An Elegant Lakeside Adventure at The Boatshed Karapiro

My second shooter Cassey and I embarked on a journey to the stunning Lake Karapiro to continue Shayna and Brendan's enchanting love story. Our connection began last year during their engagement session in Raglan, where I discovered Shayna's ever-positive, bubbly energy and Brendan's laid-back charm.

The bride was preparing with her tribe at the couple's Gordonton home, where we were greeted by some of their farm animals. The day then kicked off with a special inclusion: a horse, adding a unique and cool vibe to the getting-ready shots. Shayna, ever the stylish bride, embraced a pair of cowboy boots hidden beneath her flowing dress to complement this look — a nod to her vibrant personality.

The ceremony unfolded at The Boatshed, providing much-needed shade on the scorching day. In the company of their closest family and friends, Shayna and Brendan exchanged vows against the picturesque backdrop of Lake Karapiro. The inclusion of a classic Ferrari brought a fun vibe to the full group photo afterwards, while a mini McLaren kept the little ones entertained for hours!

The afternoon continued with casual mingling, a playful bridal party shoot around the property, and dinner with a view inside the venue. The evening was filled with great entertainment, heartwarming speeches, a captivating first dance, and an amazing buffet dinner. The wedding cake and, everyone's favorite, Duck Island ice cream added the perfect sweet touch to the festivities.

As the day wound down, Shayna and Brendan stole a moment in the warm embrace of golden hour. Roaming the beautiful surroundings, we directed them for stand-out shots, capturing the essence of their love against the canvas of the evening.
